This is post 7 of 7 for the 7 posts in 7 days challenge! It felt like I was scraping the bottom of the barrel for things to say sometimes (there’s a reason I only post 4-6 times a month) but I think it was a good challenge. I did get 7 posts up in 7 days, but I cheated a little and had two days that I put two posts up (today and Thursday) and two days that I didn’t post at all (Wednesday and Saturday). I got a couple of posts out of my drafts folder that had lingered there for a while (this one and this one) and shared some things that I wouldn’t have otherwise (like this silly one) and came up with a few good ideas for future posts along the way.
I decided to close out the week with a photo collage where
I think about the special things in our house that make it our home.
To the right of the front door, I have two yarn pictures that were handmade by my Great Grandma. My one great grandparent that I was lucky enough to have on earth until just before I turned 20.
Our mantle. There are so many special things here.
Looking Closer: A wreath that one of our friends made for us, pictures that have all of our immediate family in them (L), and a picture with all of our BCM friends.
We received these at Christmastime. Andy’s brother got him the crucifix in Rome.
Our piano which I’ve written about before. It holds our family devotional materials and some special things from our Grandmas.
Above our dining room table is a plaque that Andy’s brother had made for us as a wedding gift. I consider Philippians 3:7-8 our life verse or family goal.
A picture from our wedding, honeymoon, and 2 more family pictures. Since we aren’t living close to family right now, our family pictures are very special.
Sometimes laundry is part of home. 🙂
This pillowcase, blanket, and pillow have been with me as long as I can remember. When I was a baby, the blanket was yellow. It has been loved well.
Some dinosaur decor in our guest room.
A sign from our wedding hangs on our bedroom door. It says, “Welcome to our Wedding Celebration”. It reminds me that our day to day living and building a life together as a family is a daily celebration of our wedding. Every day is our wedding celebration.
A Valentine’s gift to Andy from three years ago.
A wedding photo with our vows printed on it sits above the bed.
The cardboard bedside table Andy gave me for Christmas as a stand in for a real one his Dad is making for me.
Andy’s special things part one.
Andy’s special things part two.
A sweet note Andy left on my pillow saved as a reminder on my mirror.
The prestigious eBay awards. Not won by just anyone, you know. 😉
Mementos of memories: college, halloween, a birthday.
Andy’s wall of accomplishment.
My wall of love.
My most used and well loved Bible from childhood.
Spanish words to memorize in the bathroom in preparation for our mission trip to the Dominican Republic this summer.
A little snapshot of our life.
What makes your house especially yours?
