Andy and I always enjoyed decorating my dorm room for Christmas. We both enjoy having a festive home for the holidays, so unlike some newly married couples who may only have a few decorations to put up their first Christmas, we had an explosion of decor.
Most of the decor ended up in the living room this year, creating an end product that I affectionately called delightfully tacky. I think it brought Christmas joy to all who were able to see it. We can only hope it will bring some joy to you as well, even if this is the 19th day of Christmas. ha! I was inspired to post it by a link-up I found at Book Smart in DC.
In addition, we had a wonderful Christmas this year. I felt like we got spoiled presents and family wise. It is such a blessing that our families live close enough to each other that we were able to see both of them on Christmas Day. I am so thankful for the quality time that we were able to spend with both sides of our family. You never know when it will be the last chance you have to see someone.
But without further ado, I hope you enjoy a peek into the 2012 Christmas fun at our home.
The Nativities
We’ll start with the holy decor. 🙂 I may be a little biased, but I’m pretty sure that puffball Mary, Joseph, and Baby Jesus made by little Andy is my favorite.

Random Fun Decor
The rest of our decor is a little free-form. We created a mantle on the wall to hang our stockings from because our apartment is mantle-less, and hung the extra garland and ornaments on every extra inch of ceiling we could find. 🙂

Coming Soon… a.k.a. next Christmas
Here are a few decorations that we received as gifts this year or bought on after-Christmas clearance that I’m excited to have in our home next year.

Well, that wraps it up for this year. Time to press on towards a new semester and new year of adventures!
Much Love,
Sarah

Oh my gosh, Sarah, HOW did I not see this amazing post until now??
First of all, all the nativities are fantastic, and the puffball nativity is my favorite too! I actually laughed out loud when I saw it. So awesome! The scripture nativity is such a sweet gift from Andy’s parents. My parents gave us our nativity too, must be some kind of cool parent thing. 🙂
I also love your fantastic Christmas card display and your tree is GORGEOUS. Good call buying all the stuff for next year – you’re such a savvy shopper! The Christmas tree measuring cups are my favorites… I have such a weakness for cute measuring cups, mine look like a matryoshka doll.
Thanks so much for joining the link-up! And for the picture of the puffball nativity… still laughing about it. 🙂
