So, hello mid-semester. Where did you come from?
After Andy & I got engaged 😀 I headed back to Wake Forest, and jumped right into a J-term class. Since then, things have been back to business as usual + wedding planning. I’ve got a lot going on this semester, but I’m enjoying all of it. Right now, I’m trying to figure out what to cut out next semester so that I won’t be MIA for Andy & I’s first few months of being married. (I’m probably just going to take one less class. We’ll see.)
During the week in between my J-term class and the semester starting, I wasn’t looking forward to a new semester. I was still trying to finish up work for the J-term, so adding in 4 more classes didn’t seem very appealing. However, it just took getting back into classes to remember why I want to be here. SEBTS really does have some great professors. On top of that, it is a privilege to be able to spend the better part of my days learning about, thinking about, and discussing scripture, faith, and theology with some really awesome people. (Look for a new blog post in the next few days about some of the things I’ve been learning. :-))
Wedding planning is well underway. I think most of the groundwork is laid now, so most of what we have to do now is just execution. By far, the most exciting part of the wedding planning was booking the honeymoon. We were both like, “We’re going on vacation… together… by ourselves… woah!” I also spent a pretty good amount of time working on our wedding website. (Which you can check out here.) One of the most special things about our engagement is just plain being excited about getting married, and feeling certain that Andy is the man I want to be my husband. I know that transitioning to being married will come with its bittersweet moments, but the overall excitement makes the transition much easier.
Well, that’s all for now. With any luck I’ll be able to get another post up in the next week or so.
Much Love,
Sarah
