Hi All,
Sorry that it has been so long since I last posted. I am in the middle of third week of school. Time is already starting to fly by. Overall, the past 2 and a half weeks have been good, but they haven’t been without some speed bumps. As a person who has never gone to a Christian school (of any kind) before, classes can be a little overwhelming at times. Although the faculty here emphasize that classes are not a replacement for church and small group Bible study, the material we cover in class still has to be processed similar to the material I would learn at church or in a Bible study. Before this semester, I was used to having a week or more to process a new spiritual idea. In classes, I have a couple of days (at best) before a new idea is thrown at me. That has taken some getting used to, and caused my first two weeks to seem fairly overwhelming. However, I think I am starting to adjust. The people here have continued to be very kind and gracious. God has continued to bless me beyond anything I could ask.
Last weekend I was able to visit Andy and my W&M friends in Williamsburg. What a wonderful breath of fresh air that was! It was so nice to be able to process some of the things I have been experiencing here with people who have known me for more than a couple of months.
In other news, I am going to be going on a mission trip to Denver, CO with SEBTS over fall break. We will be working with a church plant called Summit Church. I am really excited about this opportunity. It promises to be a good experience for me in so many ways. I am looking forward to the ministry we will do there, the insight I will gain, and the relationships I will get a chance to build – both with the people in Denver and the people on my team from SEBTS. As you might expect, there are some expenses associated with the trip. Please feel no obligation, but if you are interested, you can donate toward the trip here, and if you so desire you can put my name in the “Student who told me about this opportunity” box (then the money will go toward my expenses specifically).
Again, feel no obligation to donate, but I do covet your prayers. Both for the mission trip, and just for my life and time in school in general. I hope that I will be able to give a more in-depth update soon.
Much Love,
Sarah
